ANOTHER VISIT WITH DEAN MA. GRACIELA GARAYBLAS-GONZAGA OF THE U.S.T. FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY by Danny Deano Willie Lagdameo, Louis Kodumal, Augie Balagtas. Neri Dimatulac-Santos and I had a dinner-meeting with Dean Grace G. Gonzaga on February 19, 2007 at an EDSA Shangrila Japanese restaurant primarily to interview and get to know the Dean better and to get her current thoughts regarding our planned class Legacy during our Ruby year. We knew beforehand that Zinnia B. Giron had already emailed a list of questionnaires to the Dean through Neri. Dean Gonzaga promised to answer all of the questions and more and to email her responses to Neri and Zinnia. Upon receipt of said responses, Neri likewise promised to do the write up about the Dean for the website and our newsletter. Dean Gonzaga also discussed the need to make some upgrades to the CME auditorium and adjoining facility. Willie Lagdameo who is very familiar with our CME project during our Silver jubilee year, echoed the sentiments of Dean Gonzaga. Willie and Neri will be working closely with the University administration to make certain that the plans for our 2007 class legacy and everything related to the same can be accomplished without any hitch. Towards the end of the evening, I was able to take solo shots of Willie, Augie, Louis and the Dean. Neri also gave me a photo for scanning and eventual posting in our website. We also invited the Dean to visit our Foundation website. On a side note, Louis Kodumal and I, both members of the Tau Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity briefly discussed the whys and wherefores of the banning of our fraternity by the previous administration for reasons that were not clear to the more senior members of the fraternity – all stemming from the irresponsible acts of a few misguided souls. The Dean promised to look into this and other issues relating to the same. |
